NMAP 4.00 is here

Not much more to say about it. If you use it, you are probably as excited as I am. If you don't... then go download it. It's a valuable tool that should be in any security engineers arsenal.

I have been working professionally in the information security realm since the late 90's. I am CISSP certified and a professional member of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Information Systems Security Association (ISSA). I was doing cleared work in the Washington, DC area as an engineer primarily doing computer system security and PKI/PKE engineering. I also set up and hardened Solaris servers along with writing JAVA based middleware to aid in our PKI/PKE initiatives. While working in DC, I had the opportunity to do systems/network security, PKI/PKE, security R&D, along with plenty of integration and development for many government agencies and acquired skills and experiences I could never have gotten working outside of DC. My career in the government sector ended in late 2004 when I moved to Austin, TX. Since then my focus has been on corporate security engineering, mainly focusing on network security and IDS/IPS research, development and analysis.
